Reflections

Necessary Endings

Krista Franks

One of the most profound emails I’ve ever received was from a client who had just been laid off. But instead of fear, she felt inspired and grateful.

She had been wanting more time with her family. She had been craving alignment with her values. She had been yearning for change. But she wasn’t going to make the move herself.

Her layoff wasn’t the plan, but it was the push she needed.

How often do we hold onto things that no longer serve us? A job. A relationship. A belief about what success should look like.

We stay because we’re afraid. Because we don’t want to be irresponsible. Because letting go feels like failure.

But what if walking away is actually the boldest move you can make?

In Necessary Endings, Dr. Henry Cloud reminds us that some things need to end for the right things to begin.

So, I invite you to reflect:

  • What in your life is no longer working?
  • What do you actually want to move toward?
  • What small step can you take today to create space for what’s next?
